Interviewer: Rory
Gallagher was and still is a hero of the common man.
He loved The Blues and played for those of us who felt the same. He was the
"anti rock star" choosing musical integrity over fame every time.
He
made us all feel like his peers.
He
was kind and approachable at his shows, spending hours after an exhausting performance
meetingand discussing music with his fans.
I
was lucky enough to have had this experience, and when he died, I can tell you,
we, his fans morned not just a
Great Musician, but a great man and a dear friend.
To this day we still meet in Ireland, at the Rory Festival in Ballyshannon.
From
all parts of the world we come and celebrate Rory together as a family, left
behind and holding on to each
Other with steadfast determination to keep Rory's memory and Music alive.
This is Rorys legacy. Joyce Lichtenberger June 20, 2011
